SeaWorld’s worst nightmare: Lawmaker proposes ban on orcas in captivity - help by signing & sharing the petition! Update: Theres been a momentous development in the campaign to stop SeaWorld from exploiting orcas -- San Francisco has taken an historic step in protecting these beautiful creatures from SeaWorlds cruelty. The City Council passed a resolution recognizing that orcas have the right to be free of captivity, and to remain unrestricted in their natural environment. Amazing isnt it? San Francisco has definitely thrown down the gauntlet to the rest of California to stop treating orcas like unthinking machines. Earlier this year, the California State legislature deferred the Blackfish bill -- a law that would ban SeaWorld from torturing orcas. The bill may be considered next year, and in the meantime we have to drum up support to show legislators theres demand for change. 1.3 million SumOfUs members like you have already spoken out against SeaWorld, but to end orca cruelty in California we need to make sure everyone signs the petition.
