Searching for truth. To seek, pursue or to dig. Searching for truth. Following the words. There are a number of ways to search for the truth. The secret is seeing it when you do find it. Then excepting and applying it according to what the bible says. By either law or principle noun: a moral rule or belief that helps you know what is right and wrong and that influences your actions: a basic truth or theory : an idea that forms the basis of something OK that is a principal. One of the principals set by the bible is that there is One true God, his Son and Holy spirit. There is also Pagan religions found in the bible. Paganism;: the state of being pagan,: a religion that has many gods or goddesses, considers the earth holy, and does not have a central authority So from Christianity to paganism there are two totally different lines of thoughts or principals. (Merriam Webster Dictionary) Yes paganism and pagan ( root word) religion proliferates in the bible. Each time it is found. It is an enemy of the truth whether it be the Israelite and ancient Egyptians gods or the Babylonian gods of the time of Daniels time or the Romans with it multitudes of gods from the time of Jesus. The two are not compatible. For instance pagan religion has in one form or another what are called tried of Gods or three in one. Again not compatible with the god of the bible. (Deuteronomy 6:4) “Listen, O Israel: Jehovah our God is one Jehovah. (1 Corinthians 8:4) Now concerning the eating of food offered to idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world and that there is no God but one. So we looked at one word Pagan, now take a quick look at lie. Because the issue all started with a lie. (John 8:44) You are from your father the Devil, and you wish to do the desires of your father. That one was a murderer when he began, and he did not stand fast in the truth, because truth is not in him. When he speaks the lie, he speaks according to his own disposition, because he is a liar and the father of the lie. Definition of LIE; intransitive verb 1: to make an untrue statement with intent to deceive 2: to create a false or misleading impression So lets apply a little of searching here. Christmas.( From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) The most popular holiday in the world. Even though the date of his birth is not known and the word Christmas is not found anywhere in the bible it is CONSIDERED a Christian holiday. Although the record of Jesus birth is recorded there. This is a line from a search on the internet. The celebratory customs associated in various countries with Christmas have a mix of pagan, pre-Christian,Christian, and secular themes and origins. So the date of it is basically a lie and it originates in pre-Christian beliefs and pagan religions. That we have already seen are not compatible with truth. Now another way to search. jw.org we have in the upper right hand corner a search icon right next to the log in. Click it and write what your looking for and click search. Its that simple. Then if you wish follow up on the internet encyclopedias. Then the question that is more or less stated in the preceding scripture could be asked of the searcher. “and he did not stand fast in the truth, because truth is not in him. When he speaks the lie, he speaks according to his own disposition,” Is it your own disposition your seeking or the truth? Just a thought. jw.org
