Seattle - November 4, 2014 - Christopher Benny has announced that, after 13 years with Magnolia based Group 2 Motorsports, he will provide his consultative and technical services as a suspension, chassis, and wheel/tire expert directly to specialty vehicle owners and shops in the Seattle area. His final day with Group 2 will be Friday, November 14th. Chris’ history with Group2 and its customers is deep, having started on day-one when the paint still smelled fresh and the first customer rolled his car into the shop. Chris has worked on some of the most important vintage and racing cars in the region, including AC Cobras, Alfa Romeo GTAs, Greenwood Corvette, and vintage Formula 1 cars by Ferrari, Tyrell, McLaren, as well exceedingly valuable road going Ferraris such as 512BB, 250, Daytona, 330 and 365 models. “I had an amazing run for the past 13 years as the in-house suspension and chassis specialist, and have developed many fantastic life-long friendships and business relationships in the process,” said Chris Benny. “The customers who’ve allowed me the opportunity to work on their extremely special vehicles and to earn their trust is what motivates me to continue providing my expertise and personal service on a more individualized basis.” Chris will also continue to pursue and develop his on-track passions as an instructor with Proformance Racing School (proformanceracingschool/) and as an amateur racing driver. Chris has fostered long-standing relationships with partners such as Goodman Racing, Gerber Motorsports, Alfa of Tacoma, to name only a few, and has become their sole provider of street and race car chassis setup work. Chris Benny has also developed key relationships with leading motorsports suppliers such as Girodisc girodisc which resulted in the prototype and development of the Girodisc G2 Big Brake System for Alfa Romeo transaxle cars. The brakes are retailed by Centerline Alfa centerlinealfa and are successfully being used on road and race cars in Australia, Norway, South Africa, Germany, Canada and the US.
