Seattle, Washington Im siding with police on this one. It looked the shirtless white dude verbally provoked others, but the protesters pictures make it look like the black guy took the first at shirtless guy, although that is debatable and you should make that decision yourself. Should the officer have used mace? I dont see why you would mace someone, unless you feel you need to. Critics will shout racism, but I argue that the black guy is bigger than the officer and out of fear and his attempt to control the situation he used it. Thats just speculation on my part, but I am making this point in part because I feel that protesters will use pictures/videos to create an us versus them situation to attempt a moral high ground. It makes sense, what better way to gain sympathy than vilifying someone with an occupation almost seemingly designed to be hated. Whether or not you agree with my argument, at least ask yourself why they choose to show the photos they post, and why they choose to show only so much of the video. Am I claiming racial profiling is not a problem in our country? No, it is. However, I dont think this particular situation was a case of racial profiling and was more the cop macing the guy that took first shot after being verbally provoked by a d-bag. https://youtube/watch?v=mfWjgAK-VsQ&feature=youtu.be
