Secret Service Director Julia Pierson just resigned after being in the position just a year. Some facts: She has honor for doing the right thing. She is not a political appointee but a career civil servant. She is the only one to resign under pressure; no political appointee has. She may have resigned that position but that does not mean she has resigned from civil service. She will get her retirement pay from the federal government when she retires. Word will leak that the SS is unable to perform to maximum because of political constraints.
