Section 3 Connecting the Dots with Percy Jackson and The Sea of Monsters Continuing the plot line of the movie and showing how my life matched up with it scene after scene… I had packed up from my Hawaii Kai location and was transferring back to my hometown of Kailua, and in the journey back, decided to visit another cemetery, called the Valley of the Temples. There I called my friend “John of Shakespeare” to ask how he was doing. On a whim, I pulled in to see what movies were listed at a nearby theater complex. I had seen a brief trailer about this Percy Jackson movie, and having synchronized highly with the previous movie decided to see this sequel. I decided to catch the next showing which was at 4:40 pm. I had 45 minutes to kill, so I drove over to a nearby botanical garden, known as Haiku Gardens. I walked down through the garden. At length, I came to a large tree that was being overtaken parasitically by a Banyan tree. The inner tree was almost completely smothered by the banyan, which wound its way up the trunk and branches of the inner tree. I traced the outer tree’s growth to the canopy and - noting the full foliage of the original tree – remarked, “So, you are still alive.” I reached towards and exposed part of the original bark and touched it. I then sank down to lie for a few minutes among the twisting roots at the base of both trees. I then went to see the movie.
