Secularism is not about giving up/covering up/denouncing/ignoring your religion. It is about accepting all religions and treating people equally despite their backgrounds. It is natural for people to have/want an identity, and they are within their rights and freedoms to express it. In fact, that is the success of secularism. Just as we have no problems with any Muslim. Christian, Jew, Parsee, Jain, Buddhist etc. come out and declare their identity, I dont see why we should have a problem with a Hindu doing that. After all, Hinduism is just another religion, and deserves to be treated like all others, no worse, no better, right? Nowadays If a Muslim says.I am Muslim, Its Ok, but Hindu dont have the freedom to do so, because this will make them communal. It is only political tactics and vote bank politics. Being Hindu isnt a wrong thing. Proudly say We are hindus
