Securities Exchange Board of India Act, 1992 amended: Securities Exchange Board of India (Amendment) Act, 2013 received President’s assent on September 12, 2013. The Act seeks to amend the Securities and Exchange Board of India Act, 1992. As per Section 15-M, the Amendment Act extended the ambit of qualification for appointment as Presiding Officer of Securities Appellate Tribunal and also included sitting or retired Judges of a High Court with a minimum service of seven years. The said Act thus repeals the Securities Exchange Board of India (Amendment) Second Ordinance 2013 (Ord. 5 of 2013).
