See You On The Other Side My Funny-Friend... Yesterday I - TopicsExpress

See You On The Other Side My Funny-Friend... Yesterday I visited one of my improvisation/sketch writing students hospital room. Her name is Julia and she is my friend. My friends Jim, Mary and her sister were in the ICU room with Julia. Upon arriving I found out that my hilarious, zany, wild friend is at the end of her life. In essence, I was there to say goodbye to The Pushers SketchComedys newest member. I got to hold my funny-ass friends hand and we spoke about some of the crazy improv scenes and characters she had played throughout the 2 +years Ive known her. We then spoke about her sketch that she wrote for The Panties in a Twist show aptly called, The Republican Rap. We all laughed from our souls and picked on Bill OReilly and Fox News. I gave my friend a Jokey Smurf shot glass and asked her if she wanted to do a shot with me. We laughed and then spoke of some things she wanted to tell me. In true Julia fashion, she jokingly asked, Is there anyone you want me to haunt? We laughed as I gave her the names of a few ex-girlfriends that she may want to visit. We laughed some more. Before I exited, I kissed my funny, sweet-souled, friend on the head and told her that I loved her and how happy I was that we got to laugh together for these past two years. I told her that Id see her on the other side and she Yes Anded me for the last time. We edited our last scene together Im afraid. All I can say is what an honor and privilege it has been to be able to improvise, create, write and most importantly laugh with my friend Julia. Ive never met a woman who fought harder to live and laugh for just a few more years. I hate cancer. I hate that it is taking my funny-friend away, but truly cancer never touched this womans soul. It just got in the way a bit. Thank you Julia for making us laugh, thank you for never stop fighting, thank you for haunting my ex-girlfriend, and thank you for being my funny-ass friend. I love you buddy. Journey well and Ill see you on the other side my friend...In honor of my funny-ass friend Julia, the Push Comedy Theater will be naming the upstairs sketch writing room, The Julia Room. Good talk
