See, friend, if you want to keep the love alive in your marriage, stop trying to change your spouse and start working on changing yourself. For every flaw and fault in your spouse there are ten more in you. That’s why the words of Jesus in Matthew 7:3, are so helpful in marriage – “You can see the speck in your friends eye, but you dont notice the log in your own eye.” So what can a couple do to keep love alive when there are unexpected differences? You have to realize that you can’t change your spouse. You can only change yourself. That’s why Galatians 6:5 tells us, “For we are each responsible for our own conduct.”
