Only due to your undeterred and bold administrative measures home doctors have been enrolled in various specialties in Mayo Hospital Lahore. Undoubtedly, your scrupulous planning against current challenges especially fiscal constraints will revolutionize my Alma Mater, King Edward Medical University. Soon it will regain its imperial glory and radiance that has faded slowly over years. I plan to succinctly convey you my purpose of writing this letter. As it is in your knowledge that Mayo hospital Lahore is 2400 bedded hospital and currently there are 363 paid slots at the hospital. Recesses can be filled in by generating almost 400 more slots as per CPSP criteria of bed allocation per Post-graduate trainee. This matter demands urgent attention of chief minister Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif. Sanctioning of more slots for post graduates will not only alleviate recent post-graduation induction constraint but it will no longer be a matter of contention for next batches of graduates. This will also buy you time to stream line clinical training system in King Edward Medical University. We humbly request you to highlight this issue and bring our grievances into Punjab Government’s knowledge by writing a letter to Health/Finance Department for increase in Post graduates slots at Mayo Hospital Lahore.
