Seems interesting even now, a note which, I had penned down in 2010: THE FACEBOOK Let’s face the reality; at first you hated it because your kids were addicted to it on the net and on their handsets. You criticize ‘Facebook’ ‘Orkut’ and all those social networking for you are a purist and believe that a society and its networking exists practically on ground in flesh and blood and never is ‘in the air.’ You are a person who believes that society is made up of people who physically interact with a Namaste. You acclaim that you have changed your Namaste to a Hello and thus have taken a herculean task in minimizing the generation gap, for that generation which doesn’t care for your efforts. You still are wondering when the dictionary replaced the word ‘best friend with ‘dude.’ Moreover you still are unable to calculate the equation on how you used to have only one ‘best friend’ and your son has a company where every other creature, except you, is announced as a ‘dude.’ You blame the younger generation for all the blah…blahs…..and also the blah…..blahs, specially including the blah…blahs….. and more importantly the blah…blahs…..etc!! (Standing for Everything else To be Considered.)! But one day undercover you secretly create an account in your own forbidden kingdom and promise yourself that you will never eat the forbidden fruit. Least you realize that this account will remain with you forever. Like the first dose of drug that an addict had taken. Then it creeps in your life like that drug that may have did with the addicts’ bloodstream. You promise yourself to keep a timetable and a routine which will be strictly few minutes per day, but you are drawn into a social feud like all the birds sitting on a huge banyan tree. The most exciting feature of these birds is that they keep on Chirping, Singing, Shouting with an emotion which mostly is Enthusiastic, Compassionate, Determined, Delighted, Cheerful, Eager, Energetic, Empathetic, Excellent, Fascinated, Lovely, Playful, Glad, Good, Great, Grateful, Graceful, Happy, Hopeful, Humorous, Inspired, Interested, Joyful, Lively, Peaceful, Excited, Expectant,Sympathetic,Glorious, Glamorous and even Superior. You come to see all your related branches with the leaves, veins, veinlet and roots flowing with an emotion comprised of one big happy mood, an event so rare in our present society. The more type of emotions you go on feeling, the more colorful your life experience becomes. Rarely will you find a bird which cries and others start to cry, as we see in our flesh and blood society. On the contrary if one cries every other tries out the above mentioned emotions and its back to cheerful in a jiffy. Slowly you are drawn into the web and your network spreads and the time dedicated for it increases. Forgiving seems to be a nature by default in the genetic system of ‘The Facebook.’ They forgive everything and it starts with the spelling and grammar. A rookie to the Facebook is destined to get lost and a purist is bound to lose his purity.
