Seems like life goes by faster and faster. Celebrated the oldests birthday this evening, and cant believe hes 26. Im only 32, dont know how this happened! Seriously, the older I get, the more I come to realize that nothing is permanent, everything is temporary, and change is inevitable. And I dont particulary like change. At least, some changes. Thank you, God, that you dont change. He is the constant in my life. Even when Im not at my best, He is always at His best. He is always on, always good, always holy, always the same. God loves us. If you dont hear anything I say or believe anything I write again, know this: God loves you. Unconditionally. Nothing you can do or not do will change that! You cannot earn Gods love, buy Gods love, or inherit Gods love. Nothing can separate you from it, take it from you, or cause it to dim. It will not tarnish, rust, or wear, fade, or shrink. In fact, it grows, the closer you get to God and the better you get to know Him. Gods love can only get better, sweeter, with time and experience. Satan cannot touch it, demons cannot weaken it, Hell has no power over it. All of humankind, even the very worst, are transformed by it. The poor cant buy it, the rich cant stockpile it, the thief cant steal it, the liar cant fabricate it. It is available to all, deserving or not, desiring or not. We can only receive it, cherish it, appreciate it, and hold it dear. It is life, our strength, our song at midnight. It is the source of joy, peace, and contentment. Our anchor, our defense, our cloud by day, our pillar of fire by night. It is comfort to the broken, a strong tower in our time of need, our path through the Red Sea, our burning bush. It was in Elijahs mantle, Peters Pentecost sermon, the empty tomb, and the widows mite. The dove descending, the manna in the desert, the water from the rock---yes, all Gods love. The cross symbolizes this love: one beam stretches from God to man, the other beam stretches out to all mankind. Gods love is timeless, endless, ageless, sizeless. It is as small as we need it to be, and as large as we need it to be. This love is all-inclusive: He loves us all! And that never changes! We cannot escape from it or negate it. His love. There is not an eraser big enough to rub it out; no army that has ever marched could defeat it. No nuclear warhead can disseminate it. No king, president, or dictator could ever staunch the spread of Gods love. Red, yellow, black, brown, white, or purple with polka-dots, He loves us all! We are each a little piece of Him. At some point in our lives, we all have to decide whether or not to accept it. It is unconditional, no strings attached, just waiting for us to acknowledge this tremendous, wonderful, magnificent gift from God. In a world that never stops, where change is the rule, not the exception, it is a blessing to know that I can count on the fact, and it is a fact, that Gods love will sustain me, even through death, and will continue with me into my next life. And if that doesnt make you feel warm and fuzzy, I dont know what will. The only way to separate yourself from Gods love is to reject Jesus, His Son. The only way to not have Gods love is for you to say no to Him. You control this one. Yes, life will continue to move faster, changing, ever changing. Gods love will be there, to be your comfort and strength. If you allow it.
