Self worth - I hear this a lot. I have to do ____ or I will get sick or a symptom will appear. True, it could happen but what about your visual self. This isnt vanity or being narcissistic. This is taking care of how you appear to yourself and others. You can say you want to be healthy but when you cant or wont do something as simple as comb your hair or brush your teeth you are counter acting everything that comes out of your mouth. The I cant because? its a negative response to others to exemplify your reasons for not giving a crap about yourself. Why get healthy on the inside and change your habits, if your appearance is poor. Simple things like bathing and putting on deodorant ( natural deodorant has no aluminum and it keeps you from smelling pungent) aid in your sense of smell to sends a message to your brain, that earthy smell is gone and it can lift your feeling of blah. Smells have been associated with depression and pain relief. Dont believe me then look it up! Not only that but you offend others you cant smell your body odor and others can. Again this is not harping on a person. This is a rule of thumb. My 8yr old has body odor worse than any child his age. I have to trap him and make him put it on. It doesnt hurt him and he smells so much better, some are allergic to aluminum so they feel they shouldnt have to go thru the trouble. True you dont have to but you dont have to be picked for that job, asked to go to public events, and asked to leave establishments for being offensive to others. Most of all you are offending your own senses which will harm your ability to do better when your not even accepting that this may be an issue. Bathing is also needed because once again you dont get a full view of yourself or smell your body when others do. This also helps with skin bacteria and can help you maintain your health. Kids are more likely to get infections because they dont want to bath. I preach this all the time. Infections can and will kill you if youre not careful. Someone I know has had MRSA and if she wasnt meticulous about her hygiene she would be so much more worse off. Hygiene isnt just for aesthetics its important. Most people dont realize their diet can make secretions from their skin, that are not pleasant to others. This again helps with socializing and can ease depression. Combing your hair and even styling it can increase your mood. If you look the same way every day without trying to change anything you will get into a routine that will eventually feel as if you have missed something. A simple change of shampoo and a brush will give you lift and volume and compliments which really no one wants to say, but we need to know others see the change we feel. Brushing and keeping your teeth looking good is so important also. Teeth can decay and infection can spread making you physically ill. Teeth probably have the most visual effect on your view of yourself. Take care of them, even if they are not great keep them in the best health you can or dentures are your next alternative. And that is really a good option for some. No joking I have seen peoples health improve almost 100% just by having their teeth removed. Clean clothes that arent wrinkled and torn, make you look better also. Your style is your business but dont expect to feel better when you walk around in pajamas and looking like you just rolled out of bed. Youve literally rolled out of bed and made no effort! Effort to move and stay busy. This isnt a cut down post this is a wake up post! Wake up get busy! Show you are getting better, you are making yourself more appealing to you. IF you only do it for others it wont work do it for yourself. If you say you want to change things then do it 100% not just half ass it. If you arent willing to work on it then dont but keep in mind, dont complain either because all that is, is you whining for attention not making a comment to get help. You will find you feel great when others notice how you feel inside.
