Pierce, FL. She was born May 28, 1925 in Casey, IL the daughter of Mark Haley and Mamie Elizabeth Kimberlin Haley. On February 6, 1944, she married Clarence Samuel Roan in Casey, IL. He passed away on February 9, 1992. She later married Naman P. Banning on December 26, 1996 in Casey, IL. He passed away on August 17, 1999. Survivors include daughter, Carolyn Gray and husband Jack of Hutsonville, IL; daughter, Evangeline Tucker of Indianapolis, IN; daughter, Jeanie Glidewell and husband Thomas of Port St. Lucie, FL; son in law, Bruce Finney of Hobe Sound, FL; fifteen grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and their families. She was preceded by her parents, husbands; daughter, Martha Finney; brothers, Ezekiel Haley, Homer Haley and Paul Haley; sisters, Emma Elliott and Edna Woodworth Mrs. Banning worked in home health care for the elderly in the Casey and Martinsville, IL areas. She was a member of the Hobe Sound Bible Church. She had previously attended the Pilgrim Holiness Church in Robinson, IL and the Wesleyan Church in Casey, IL. Esther enjoyed working outside in her yard, painting, crafts and cooking. She especially loved planning, hosting and cooking Sunday dinners for her family, a weekly tradition. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, August 26, 2013 at the Markwell Funeral Home with Brother Jack Gray officiating. Burial will follow in the Washington Street Cemetery, Casey, IL. Visitation will be held from 12 to 1 p.m. prior to the service on Monday afternoon at the Markwell Funeral Home, 200 N. Central Ave., Casey, IL. Memorial donations may be made to the Palestine Pilgrim Holiness Church, c/o Pastor Paul Gray, PO Box 234, Palestine, IL 62451 or to the family c/o Markwell Funeral Home, PO Box 175, Casey, IL 62420 or the donor’s choice.
