Sent the following letter to the South Dakota High School - TopicsExpress

Sent the following letter to the South Dakota High School Activities Association today with the hopes of them revoking my dads suspension due to lack of proof and improper evaluation of the complaints against him. Typical SDHSAA. As you can imagine, I never heard back from them. To whom it may concern: I am writing this e-mail in regards to the suspension of Stevens High School football coach, Scott Hagen. Mr. Hagen was suspended from coaching one football game following their victory over Sturgis on Friday, September 12. The states reasoning of Mr. Hagens suspension was a complaint from an official who officiated Stevens September 12th game. During the game, there were many flagrant calls made against Stevens by the referee(s) who are responsible for the complaints against Mr. Hagen. As the referees acknowledged numerous penalties against the Stevens Raiders, they failed to fairly do the same against Sturgis. The biggest emphasis in high school sports is to protect the safety and integrity of student athletes. After watching the video footage that was recorded during the Stevens and Sturgis game, there are many obvious penalties of which were purposely unacknowledged. Mr. Hagen did not receive any unsportsmanlike conduct penalties, and was not ejected from the game. In order for the state to suspend a coach, they must have proof of unsportsmanlike conduct, and proof of two ejections that take place prior to the suspension. The state has failed to provide any proof besides hearsay from the complainer(s). Although the referees who officiated the September 12th game were turned into the state for failure to fairly officiate a sporting event, and failure to protect the student athletes, consequences of their actions were not properly evaluated and were not distributed to the person(s) responsible. The proof of their actions are in the video footage that was recorded. On behalf of the Stevens High School football team, and the community of Rapid City, this e-mail is being sent as a reminder to the South Dakota High School Activities Association of what integrity, safety, and righteousness means to the student athletes and their coaches involved in high school sports. It is our hope and mission of the Rapid City community to seek justice against the referee(s) responsible for the failure of integrity, safety, and righteousness, and to uphold and revoke the suspension of Stevens High School football coach, Scott Hagen. We anticipate that the South Dakota High School Activities Association will rightfully make peace with the situation and all parties involved, and will take the responsible actions necessary to seek justice for those whom are in the wrong. With all due respect.
