Senzo Meyiwas murder takes me back to the time when Lucky Dube was - TopicsExpress

Senzo Meyiwas murder takes me back to the time when Lucky Dube was gunned down. Much like then, the nation was appalled by this senseless act of violence. The authorities called on SAPS to do everything in their power to apprehend the perpetrators. When then governor of the reserve bank Tito Mboweni, was caught up in a robbery at a petrol station in Oaklands, although uninjured it was front page news with SAPS promising swift action. Last week ANC politician Jackson Mthembu was shot and wounded in an ATM robbery in Witbank. This was immediate front page news with the ANC demanding that SAPS apprehend the perpetrators and expressing shock at this random act of violence committed during a robbery. Dont get me wrong, I sympathise with the families and friends of all of those mentioned above but I have just one question: Can anyone name the 3 year old who went missing two weeks ago and whose little murdered body was found this weekend? Will that 3 year olds murder get the same media attention and same level of investigation expertise that the investigations involving these high profile individuals receive? Are we not ALL equal in the eyes of the law? Is there a R250 000 reward being offered for information leading to the arrest of the 3y ear olds murderers?
