Separatists surprised as Iranian Ambassador ignored the word ‘Kashmir’ Srinagar, June 5, Much to the discomfort surprise of the separatist leaders present in the seminar, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ghulam Raza Ansari maintained complete silence over Kashmir issue and did not even mention the word Kashmir during his 15 minute speech in a seminar in Srinagar. The seminar was organized by Anjaman-i-Sharei Shian to commemorate the 25 death anniversary of the founder of Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Khomeni. The Iranian ambassador to India talked about Egypt, Sham, Libeya and Iraq while maintained silence over Kashmir. “We were expecting that at least he (Ghulam Raza Ansari) will urge upon India to resolve the long pending Kashmir issue. We didn’t want him to speak against India but at least it was our expectation he would describe Kashmir an issue, but he didn’t and it really surprised me,” one of the leaders of a religious organization present in the seminar said.
