Sept 17th is the death anniversary of the King of Romance of the Indian Cinema. Hasrat Jaipuris songs grew on us as we grew up.. slowly understanding the words, later, the deeper sentiments. In tribute to Hasrat sahebs memory, here is a fantastic song written by him. Vasant Desai probably drew blood from his heart while composing it.. and undoubtedly, Lata was par excellence. I wish that the on-screen actress, Sandhya, had not over-acted so.. but then she was representing an actress and that would require melodrama. I really wondered about the powerful breeze from the fan pointed at her, that her aanchal flew horizontally in every direction.. or was it kept aloft by a hidden hand.. All in all, she certainly did not have to suffer the heat, but escaped pneumonia. Hasrat saheb wove a great web here, roping in the plight of Sita and Meera along with the heroines..
