Sept 22...the country song of my life which involves trains, the big C, prison and beyond all that, life, hope, miracles, redemption, second and many more chances. Twenty five years ago today, I was told by Dr. Henderson (now passed away, from cancer) that I had cervical cancer and would have to have immediate referral to an oncologist surgeon. My friend Penny Collier Briscoe was with me. We went out in the parking lot and I screamed, IVE GOT THE BIG C! We went and ate at the Warehouse behind Oxford square and I wrote on the chalkboard as we left, 1989 sucks! And I hate that word. We drove down fraternity row in the rain and then home to Bstesville to do the hardest part--tell my 75 yr old widower daddy. It all turned out ok; I had the surgery, (Penny was with me. And I doubt theres ever been a radical hysterectomy that was so much fun.) I lived to see my children graduate, to see my grandson Bailey begin first grade and get an excellent report card...which reminds me, I think he has a soccer game tomorrow night. My son is still here 26 years later after miraculously walking away unscathed after being hit by the 6 PM train Sept 22, 1988) two weeks after getting his drivers license. I dont know how I ever whine. I have been blessed with far more miracles in my life than I ever deserved. Fifty seven years ago God sent a very sweet friend to earth for me to call lunch buddy and sweet friend. Since we havent had lunch in over a week, Ill get your present to you later Debby Anglin Brown
