September 10, 2014 Very active storm system affects Ohio tonight into tomorrow forenoon. Like yesterday it seems to me that the tornado threat will be from Chicago to Indianapolis to Toledo and Detroit and north of this line. This will transfer to a damaging wind threat, lightning, and heavy rain threat during the overnight. Rainfall should be 1-2 inches in Central Ohio and higher to the Northwest. Cold front exits the state tomorrow forenoon with brisk winds out of the northwest bringing in much cooler air for the next week. Muggy conditions tonight only. Ragweed is on the downward spiral already so if you suffer from that allergy you should start to notice better breathing even this week. Parameters for severe weather are not overly impressive in themselves, CAPES 1000 LIFTED INDEX -3, we had -11 LI a week ago here! But there is a spin with the low crossing into lower Michigan late afternoon into early evening and there is a strong jet stream involved but winds are parallel with the cold front and not turning with height and that is a good sign for us. Tonight Strong, numerous storms 68 Tomorrow Morning rain, shifting winds, cool 73 Friday Partly cloudy 53/70 Saturday Mostly cloudy and cooler 52/65 Sunday Chilly morning then sunny 47/68 Monday Fall like again 48/68 Tuesday Very pleasant 49/70 Wednesday Still cool and dry 53/73
