September 28, 2003 - I gave birth to a beautiful, brown-eyed baby boy. We named him Fred November 22, 2003 – We watched our precious son breathe his last. September 28, 2013 - I stood in the crow’s nest over the Washburn football field, looking out on the faces of the first Fred Five participants. What a gift to be doing something positive with Fred’s name on it! By the grace of God, we are able to triumph over life’s worst tragedies. To all those who ran, walked, sponsored, volunteered, donated online, and prayed – we did it! We raised over $13,000 for the research of NH/GALD. And to add icing to the cake, the Washburn community hosted a quality 5k run/walk. The kids had a blast running their races on the track. A day I will never forget! September 28, 2014 - I will again stand in the crow’s nest. I cannot wait to see all those eager faces again! One day, there will be NO more NH deaths. The time is near. And we are a part of it. Isn’t that amazing? I am fortunate enough to have personal contact with Dr. Whitington, and he assures me that his research is going to make an NH/GALD pregnancy screening a reality. With that, NH/GALD will effectively be wiped off the map! For race info or to donate to this amazing cause, visit thefredfive Thank you SO much for your support!
