You hardly ever see an actor openly hate the character he plays like that. Usually they’ll talk about how much they love the story & how much they have in common with the character. I’m sure he appreciates what Twilight has done for his career but on the other hand it’s like a double edged sword, he’s so strongly associated with something that he hates. Like I try to imagine being a painter & being commissioned to paint a subject matter I don’t like, lending my talent to something that doesn’t represent me. It must suck. I like that he makes it clear playing Edward Cullen is just a job & it doesn’t represent who he is.
