September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Unfortunately, - TopicsExpress

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Unfortunately, our family, friends and loved ones are more aware than we ever wanted to be! I think that this month means different things to different people. This is what I want you to know during this month: Lee and I walked, with Dylan, through a cancer diagnosis, treatment, the words Theres nothing more we can do., a funeral, and figuring out life after losing our sweet boy. On the other side of that, we have a 16 year marriage that is happy and stronger than it ever was. People say, I cant even imagine losing my child. I would never make it. I dont know how you did it. I will tell you.... JESUS!!! He held us through EVERY SECOND of EVERY PART of the awful journey! (Not that I always knew it at the time. He has shown me so many times that He was there, without me giving Him a thought.) Only in His strength, did we hold our son until his last breath left him. Only in His strength have we survived every day since. (Especially those days when the pain comes just as strong as ever. It still comes! It is just GRACE & HOPE in JESUS that lets us cry, kick, scream, or whatever and then get up and go on.) Only in His strength did Lee and I walk through this TOGETHER! Only in His strength did we have the courage to say that we wanted to have children in our lives again. Only in His strength will we face anything else that comes our way. The Bible does NOT promise happiness. It promises a God that will give us the strength to rest in Him to get through. God DID NOT give Dylan cancer! Sin DID NOT cause him to have cancer! God is GOOD in ALL things!!!! So in this month of awareness, I want you to know that no matter what your situation is, be aware of JESUS!! HE is the HOPE! HE is the JOY! HE is the RESURRECTION! HE tells me that I will see my sweet Dylan again! Not for a few years, but for ETERNITY! Thank you, Jesus!!
