Serious-post alert! For five years Ive been going to Tomorrowland and every year the weekend brings 2 or 3 of those memorable sets. Thats the goal right? Youre going for the music. But 360 days later when youre packing your stuff for yet another adventure, youre not remembering those sets.. no youre trying to imagine what next level of epicness the best crowd in the world will reach. In 2010 I was amazed by the spontaneous sync-dancing and the mood of the crowd leading into Guettas sitdown. Unity, passion.. words like that spring to mind. In 2011 those words got a more visual meaning. For me, 2011 marks the start of the rise of the country flags, with last year being the peak as seen in Aokis picture. This year however, with all the shit going on in the world.. Ukraine, Gaza, Nigeria etc. etc., I wish the world took note of what happens at Tomorrowland. Of course partying 12-13h a day for 3 days straight kinda cuts you from the news and journals, but you really enter a different world as soon as you enter the mainstage (and Tomorrowland for that matter). Spontaneity, unity, acceptance, peace, passion, pride.. awesome words! Music is.. so much more!
