About six months ago, several FB friends, who have since become the most pro-Yes posters, all came out with a very similar statement about how they had been no voters but now they had read up on it, they had decided to go for yes, which to me, because of the timing and the wording, smacks of spin and manipulation of me from my friends. The threat from Alex Salmond to renege on our share of the debt if rUK didn’t agree to a currency union is risking financial suicide in a global sense. It meant the chancellor, a chap I have been hitherto happy to hate, had to guarantee the Scottish debt. The idea that a new country would be led by someone who could be so reckless and hold a gun to the rest of the UK worries me.
