Serious stuff for a min, then I promise to go back to posting pics of my hens. This is why I’m voting no – and these are all primary sources, rather than through the filter of one side or another. My 16 year old daughter – the generation that has been given the vote - has studied history for the last five years and The Scottish Wars of Independence have been on the SNP decided curriculum every single year. I know where politicking in schools has happened before and I don’t like it. About six months ago, several FB friends, who have since become the most pro-Yes posters, all came out with a very similar statement about how they had been no voters but now they had read up on it, they had decided to go for yes, which to me, because of the timing and the wording, smacks of spin and manipulation of me from my friends. The threat from Alex Salmond to renege on our share of the debt if rUK didn’t agree to a currency union is risking financial suicide in a global sense. It meant the chancellor, a chap I have been hitherto happy to hate, had to guarantee the Scottish debt. The idea that a new country would be led by someone who could be so reckless and hold a gun to the rest of the UK worries me. Jim Sillars Day of Reckoning speech– threats against British businesses, promising boycotts in my name. Not a thing to be doing if you want all of us to prosper in an independent Scotland. The crowd outside the BBC. Attempting to influence journalists, calling for individuals to be sacked, by mob rule is very, very worrying. Thats it, Im done now. x
