Sermon for Sunday, 26th January, 2014 PCG; Bethe Congregation Atonsu-Kumasi THEME: Apostles sent to preach the Good News. ==================== Two key words are found in the theme which needs to be well understood: Apostle & the Good News APOSTLE: one equipped and sent away. The purpose of being sent away is to convey messages. Therefore an apostle Christ is one discipled with the knowledge of Christ and sent to proclaim it. He can be likened to the village gong-gong beater. No matter his stature, he carries the words of the superior of the village and you dare not disobey him. GOOD NEWS: Gods work of atonnement through the crucifiction, death and resurrection of Christ. That, by the by Christs death; man is being reconciled back to God. This is good news, Hallelujah!!! There were and (still are) three-(3) categories of people who followed & still following Christ. They are: Followers: large crowed with so many reasons for following Christ. Some for food, marriage, fruit of the womb etc. Disciples: Out of the lot were people who learnt the life of Christ. They were more than the 12. Apostles: those who learnt and could be sent away to proclaim. Which the three are you?
