Service crews are doing their best to restore power to the thousands of people around Lane County that have lost electricity after Saturdays ice storm. EWEB working to bring back power to nearly 5,300 w/o service across town with priority on the main lines in the Westmoreland area, Barger Drive, Prairie Road, River Road, Irving Road, Thurston and the south Eugene hills. Springfield Utility dealing with outages are primarily in east Springfield and the downtown area. No word on when theyll be restored. EPUD dealing with main power line repairs to restore electricity to 9,000 homes across the greater county area. 2,000 of those are in Cottage Grove. Lane Electric brought on extra staff to help get power online to 5,700 of their customers.
