Seventeen years ago, I rescued you and your twin brother from an abandoned car, when you were only 4 weeks old. I watched the two of you taking turns sleeping, while the other stood guard, for many months. You two were the inseparable pair until we lost him six years ago, and then you started to come out of your shell a bit, and be a little less afraid, but you still preferred to be left alone, and only snuggled on your terms.
