Several people asked me after church if they could have a copy of the personal version of THE LORDS PRAYER that our son, Bruce, did during worship service. I gave it to a couple people so far, but cant remember everyone that asked, so I will attach a hard copy here as well the Youtube video (sound only) that he did at another church: https://youtube/watch?v=RhrYCWHEaYM .................................................... Bruce & Mary Edwards were the Deans at Michigamme Family Camp in the upper peninsula of Michigan. One of the spiritual growth exercises they used was to break down The Lord’s Prayer into 13 separate lines, and then assign each line to a camper or a family to rewrite in their own words. Then at the communion service on Friday night, they put it all together and read it out loud. Here is the result: THE LORDS PRAYER (Personal Version) Michigamme Family Camp - August 2011 Abba Father, Creator, Giver of Life, our salvation, Daddy who protects us, who meets our needs, who guides us when we are lost, you are in our future home for eternity; our place to share your presence forever. We raise your name above all others. Your name is holy, to be honored, respected and held in reverence; let your unfailing love and perfect provision fall down. God, I’m stubborn and like to have control. I like to know what is going on, but often you say, “Trust me because all things work together for good for them that seek you.” Help me to say, “Thy will be done” and give me peace because you know best. Heaven is a wonderful place where your will, O God, is also wonderful, and we pray that you would establish your beautiful will as the foundation of our earth. Please provide us food to nourish our bodies and souls today. You say that debt is anything done against you – all sin, selfishness, love of money, greed, jealousy, murder, theft, being mean or hateful, prideful, or non-loving in any way, or worshiping anything besides you. But you also taught us to pray, “Forgive us our debts,” just like when we forgive others who have offended us. Guide us and strengthen us against Satan’s arrows that pierce our lives. I thank you that you in me is greater than he who is in the world, and as I submit to you, I can resist the devil and he must flee from me. I thank you that I am more than a conqueror through Christ, and that I am redeemed from the curse of the law. I thank you that no weapon formed against me will prosper. You have established your kingdom to be forever. Because only you have the power to make this happen, you deserve all the glory from the entire universe forever. All these things we know you can do because you are the eternal, omnipotent God. We trust you and thank you for hearing our prayer.
