Several ups and downs today: glasses torn from my face today at work, which bent them up dramatically. (I was completely unaffected other than suddenly not having glasses on my face.) A fellow teacher bent them back more or less into shape. On the other hand, most of my students were very attentive and tried hard on our Indefinite Pronouns of Shakespeare worksheet, although I had to explain a LOT; the kids were VERY confused about how everyone was singular when it named a group. My essay writing classes were very on it today, but were bitter that I kept making them go back to the source material and provide examples from the texts. I had an after-school workshop on digital reading and writing, which went well. I have my doubts about being able to integrate it into my classroom, though. I got an important letter mailed, (finally) and got a spritz bottle so I can maybe start ironing again, or maybe just spritzing cats that are growfy with one another. I bought a new set of magnifying glasses for eight dollars. I made it just in time for Irishs ensemble concert, at which he played Amazing Grace well. After the concert, I helped a stranded motorist jump her car. We went out for Dairy Queen after the concert. And, I learned the Spanish version of Are You Sleeping? which gives me FOUR verses to sing to a little girl insistent on multiple repetitions of the song - English, French, German and Spanish. I have to sing the French and Spanish versions separated by French and German on either side, for their second lines are similar enough that I confuse them back-to-back. Romance Languages for the bewilder!
