The main problem in Egypt and all countries with political Islam is very simple: Political Islam ideology contradicts with democracy, freedom and human rights. You can all argue with me from here to eternity but i am Muslim living in a Muslim country and I lived in the US parts of my life so I know what I am talking about. My argument is simple: religiously bearded Muslims are most happy in the UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand, Australia and partly western Europe, why ? They reap the benefits of human rights and freedom to many things and they are a minority that have no hope to ever ruling these countries so things are stable and good. Now lets start east with Afghanistan and move est to Morocco, find me a SINGLE Muslim country with Political Islam that is happy or prosperous (forget Turkey, Erdogan just show his ugly face with the Ghezzi park problem) and do not say Saudi (Saudi has no politics or freedoms whatsoever! It a Monarchy as you all know) . Mr. Fisk, we live here and I am 53 and I lived days of Nasser, Sadat (Bless His Soul), Mubarak and finally the failed Morsi. You can never imagine how bad economically, culturally, politically and even morally has these 18 black months been (6 Months of Islamic Parliament and 12 of Presidency). You are living Mr. Fisk and when you things settle a bit you leave like you after 25 Jan revolution and write about more exciting. Egyptian price hikes and political failure are not that exciting for you but they are our everyday misery. This thing by the MB in Heliopolis and Giza is not peaceful and if somebody did to Trafalgar Square in London what they did to EL Nasr street in Helopolis, James Cameron would have shouted Bloody Murder and attacked with F-16s and Tanks not even riot police. The problem is simple, they see democracy as a one way ticket to power to control every aspect of our lives even worse that Big Brother and his cameras in your Non Democratic UK ! Thank you !
