Shame....we need a proactive system that supports families. Good early childhood programs as well as supports for families to access services that they are in need of.... Parenting programs, access to clean affordable safe housing accomadations, navigating through education, employment, income support, addiction services. The bandaid solution is not a successful working model. Invest in the early years and it will allow for better outcomes. Those 26 children were not disposable lives....they mattered just as much as your child or mine. Hope to see this on all party platforms nearing the election.
