Shanghai seminar enhances communication with HK Legislative Council members - Chief Executive CY Leung says Legislative Council members and Central Government officials had a frank and pragmatic exchange today on constitutional development at a seminar in Shanghai. Briefing reporters after attending the seminar, Mr Leung said the three Central Government officials attending the seminar made substantive and comprehensive responses. Exchanges like this are beneficial to constitutional development, he added. Mr Leung said he is glad to know that Hong Kong liaison office director Zhang Xiaoming pledged to try and meet privately with lawmakers he did not get a chance to talk to before, creating more communication opportunities. The delegation of lawmakers met with Mr Zhang, as well as Hong Kong & Macau Affairs Office Director Wang Guangya and Basic Law Committee Chairman Li Fei. Mr Leung said lawmakers and Central Government officials had a frank and pragmatic exchange on constitutional development. The three Central Government officials made a substantive and comprehensive response. Mr Leung said exchanges like these are beneficial to constitutional development, and added the Government will grasp every opportunity to improve communication.
