The festival called RAKSHABANDHAN comes on full moon called PURNIMA in the month of SHARAVAN. It is called Rakhi Purnima Raksha Bandhan in Sanskrit literally means the tie or knot of protection. On this festival every Sister-Brother get together. Sister tie a belt called RAKHI on his wrist, mark TILAK on his forehead then he promises to protect his sister then she feeds SWEET to her brother and brother gives gift and hugs to her. Raksha Bandhan is a Hindu festival that celebrates the love and duty between brothers and sisters; the festival is also popularly used to celebrate any brother-sister like loving protective relationship between them RAKSHABANDHAN POEM The love in my body and heart For the earths shadow and light Has stayed over years. With its cares and its hope it has thrown A language of its own Into blue skies. It lives in my joys and glooms In the spring nights buds and blooms Like a Rakhi-band On the Futures hand.
