Shared Christmas Eve with our women inside, first in our 4:15 - TopicsExpress

Shared Christmas Eve with our women inside, first in our 4:15 worship service, and then by taking Holy Communion to women in five different living units who cant come in person. Those 30-40 women included some in detention, mental health watch, special needs, and an under-18 resident. It also included many (a couple of dozen?) women who have just arrived, or just arrived back. They were so grateful. Upon being offered the opportunity to partake, an openly intrigued correctional officer in the intake unit declined, expressing how new all this was to her. Ive never seen that done before. A holy moment, as was another officers help in offering communion to the women in detention, and explaining to some who were confused, Its when you receive the bread and grape juice, which is the body and blood of Jesus. Indeed. Merry Christmas, we said to each other again and again, despite all those circumstances. And God bless you. There was plenty of that blessing to go around.
