Sharing My Poetry/Passage The Winding Road It seems so clear, so finite, so concrete And then it shifts Changing like a spider web that is whisked away in an instant At one moment a work of art, a home, a masterpiece, a trap for prey The next, gone into almost nothingness When we hold onto plans we can feel the pain of the disintegration If they don’t turn out the way we projected them to When we look at life like a work of art, the beauty in the doing The result need not matter, the destruction just another beginning Each step of the journey can be enough Each undoing can be divine Each web can be strategically placed again and again No matter where they are, the fact is that they were created spectacularly Spun like silk, magical, mystical works of art The metaphor is profound The impermanence a lesson The beauty a mirror The perfection a miracle Next time plans are whisked away Let them go Trust that the web is to be placed somewhere else To catch the light in a new way To be seen by someone that may not have seen it where it was To live in the making of the art as the journey of enoughness To allow space for grace in knowing it is all divine No matter what No matter where No matter when No matter with whom Nothing can take away the beauty of impermanence Nothing can deny the work of art each of our lives are No one can deny the plentitude of art forms that exist The vast array is almost inconceivable Taken for granted, perhaps Or never even seen, just like a hidden web As we open our eyes with wonder and awe we shall see more We shall understand more without knowing We shall be more without doing We shall love more without fearing And we shall expand more without attaching
