Sharing a message that suits the CIGGO ideals from Forum For Good Governance-Hyderabad AP: ప్రజా సేవే లక్ష్యముగా .. ఫోరం ఫర్ గుడ్ గోవేర్నన్స్ BRIEF ABOUT PRESENT POLITICAL SITUATION IN THE COUNTRY By Mr M.V.Krishna Reddy After country got independence during the last 60 years there was good growth in education, Health and on overall economy. Simultaneously there are bad trends like corruption, exploitation, greed for money and most of the people have lost character and are living with tensions. System is leading to lot of gap between the rich and the poor which may lead the country into chaos. Time has come that all right thinking people have to think how to set the system in right track for the well being of all the people. The following may help build a better system. 1.Administrative reforms and decentralization of administration to be brought to district level from present state level, which may help to bring down corruption and exploitation by the people at the helm of affairs. By appointing one more person of Collector rank and see that regular meetings at least once in a week between the people and government machinery at MRO, RDO, Joint Collector and Collector Levels to solve the problems across the table. Let the govt think seriously instead of giving lakhs to help the next kith & kin who lost their live in accidents, they can try to pay monthly pension to wife and children, reasonable amount to carry on their lives. 2.Belt shops to be totally banned by the govt and educate rural people on the ill effects of liquor on health & wealth of the people, through press and TV media by involving voluntary organizations and govt machinery. Govt should not think of getting money through liquor at the cost of ruining of lives of rural people and to help belt shop owners whose % is negligible when compared with people who are suffering in crores. 3. All political parties in the country claim that they are doing service to the people. In practice, politicians contesting in elections from gram panchayath level to parliament level spending huge amount of money to get elected. When they spend huge money to get elected naturally they will try to collect money in double the amount they spend by using power. This is the main reason for all the problems i.e., corruption exploitation at all levels in the administration. Same was the case with selling votes. Government machinery with the help of voluntary organizations need to educate voters not to take money to vote to the candidates as they will loose their right to demand the elected candidates to provide their basic needs. Let us take-up with all voters mainly educated to participate in voting in polls which is the main responsibility of all citizens. 4.As we all knew that thousands of cases are continuing in courts for 5 to 20 years after filing. Reforms should be brought in by the central government to provide 2 more High Court benches in Andhra and Rayalaseema areas which should be provided to litigant public to clear cases at the earliest. At this stage we should remember the proverb “JUSTICE DELAYED IS JUSTICE DENIED”. 5.Govt is spending more than Eleven thousand crores on education but people have lost total faith in govt schools and forced to spend Minimum Rs.1000 per student per month in the private schools. This clearly shows that most govt schools are not doing justice to the children. This is very serious issue to be sorted out and immediately. 6.Govt is spending thousands of crores on health but it is not reaching to the people and private hospitals are exploiting the people by charging abnormally . Even sometimes, they are making 30% to 40% profits on medicines and 100% on tests. Emergency services introduced by the State govt through Arogya Sree is being exploited by private hospitals by manipulating the govt machinery. Govt should try to correct the above problems. 7.There is a huge corruption at police stations. This has to be changed by bringing in necessary reforms in police administration. 8.Govt should workout the cost to be sold on major food and other items like rice, wheat, pulses, oils, medicines, steel, cement, wood and cloth etc. as basic raw materials are coming from nature free of cost. 9.Instead of working estimates for each and every contract in the state the government can work out the raw materials cost needed for construction work in each district on the availability of various raw materials and provide the estimates for various civil works. This will help reduce exploitation by the officers, Contractors & Politicians. Also govt should preach through media about conduct and character of the people to do their duty sincerely and keeping Dharma in their minds. Govt should create machinery with voluntary organizations to preach on the above subjects through public meetings and T.V. and all other kinds of Media continuously. God has done one good thing that is known to all the people but keep forgetting or neglecting – WHAT ALL WE EARN NEITHER WE EAT NOR WE TAKE WITH US at the time of our end of lives. To implement the above subject major political parties in power should involve along with voluntary organizations. Working on the above may help people to live with more happiness.
