Belpara is a village under the Rotary Club sponsored RCC Dakshindihi. Rotarains have been visiting the area regularly since the RCCCs inception in 1995. The village has a population of approx 5000 and most of the village homes do NOT have sanitary facilities. People defecate in the open, spreading pollution leading water born diseases specially stomach ailments. Due to ever increasing requirement of water specially for agriculture, the level of under ground water has been steadily going down and ponds & wells go dry in summer, leading to acute shortage of water.
