Sharon and I took a little ride along the Mississippi river today on our day off. Heres a few things we seen along the way. Passing through Woodhull on the way we noticed the steeple of Bethany Lutheran church through an opening in some trees that formed a frame around the steeple. I took this picture a city block from the church. The swan was at Lock & Dam 13 near Fulton Il. He was King of the Hill standing tall and proud on a pile of debris as I took its pic. The authenic Dutch Windmill is in down town Fulton and grinds grain into flour several times during the summer months. The Giant White Egret flew just close enough to us for me to take its pic. The last 2 pictures of church steeples was taken from Fulton Il.across the river into Clinton Iowa. It was a long way but I dont think they came out to bad. Needless to say, these 2 pic would not have been possible without my 400 MM lens. Next week on our vaction we plan to continue on the river road and into the Upper Mississippi River Wildlife Refuge northward into Wisconsin. We hope to get some good wildlife pic along the way.
