Shaykh AbdurRazāq al-Badr حفظه الله: From the benefits/virtues of studying Allāhs Names and Attributes: Verily Allāhﷻ Loves His Names and Attributes, and He Loves that their effects become apparent in His creation, as this is from his natural perfect. فهو وتر يحب الوتر He (Allāh) is Single and He Loves that which is odd in number. جميل يحب الجمال He is Beautiful and Loves that which is beautiful. عليم يحب العلماء Hes the Most Knowledgeable and Loves those who have knowledge. جواد يحب الاجواد Hes the Most Generous and Loves those who are generous. قوي والمؤمن القوي أحب إليه من المؤمن الضعيف Hes the Most Powerful and the strong believer is more beloved to Him than the weak believer حيي يحب أهل الحياء Hes the Most Shy and Loves those who are shy/modest تواب يحب التوابين He accepts the repentance of His slaves and He Loves those who repent. شكور يحب الشاكرين Hes the Most Grateful and Loves those who are grateful. صادق يحب الصادقين Hes the Most Truthful and Loves those who are truthful. محسن يحب المحسنين Hes The Doer of good and Loves those who do good. رحيم يحب الرحماء، وإنما يرحم من عباده الرحماء Hes the Most Merciful and Loves those who have Mercy, And He only has Mercy on his slaves who show mercy. ستير يحب من يستر علی عباده Hes the One who covers up and Loves those who cover up for his slaves. عفو يحب من يعفو عنهم Hes The Most Forgiving and Loves those who forgive others. بر يحب البر وأهله Hes the Most Courteous and Loves kindness/righteous and its people. عدل يحب العدل Hes the Most Just and Loves justice. Allāhﷻ repays His slaves according to the existence of these attributes.. [فقه الأسماء الحسنى؛ ص24-25] Every name and attribute of Allāh can have a corresponding effect upon a person; so in order to complete the application of knowledge of Allāh in our lives, we must act accordingly to the effects of the attributes of Allāh. We can worship Allāh via this understanding, for an act of worship is associated with every attribute.
