She got arrested for spanking her child??? NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. (WANE) A four-year-old boy has been placed in the custody of his father following the arrest of his mother Friday on a felony charge of battery. According to the Indiana State Police, a detective began a criminal investigation after the Wabash County Division of the Indiana Department of Child Services notified them of allegations that the boy had been hit by his mother. The detective was able to obtain a video that appears to show Savannah M. Baermann, 25, repeatedly hitting the boy with the backside and the open side of her hand at her North Manchester home. The incident allegedly took place in July of 2014. The boy’s father does not live with Baermann according to police. Baermann is being held in the Wabash County Jail.
