She yelled up the stairs to wake her son for school like every other morning as she rushed to do ten things at once. Lunch was half made; wondering if the cold-cuts could make it another day. Dont forget to put a water in my backpack, she could hear his daily reminder running through her mind as she recycled a bottle, as there were none to be found. The dog tugged at her knee, begging to be let out before things were so rushed he would have to wait until noon to pee. There was no sound upstairs. She stopped and waited to hear water running or the frantic rush to find matching sox. The silence was deafening. She went upstairs to see what was up. She pulled back the covers and he was gone. The early morning took him to Heaven. Her precious, kind-hearted, always smiling, amazing son was gone. How was your morning?
