Shed fire at Tanunda The CFS is attending a 30 x 20 metre shed fire at an irrigation business in Tanunda in the Barossa Valley. Plastics and a boat are burning within the shed and is causing a considerable black smoke column seen throughout the area. About 25 Fire fighters are defensively fighting the fire, with five trucks and a water tanker in attendance. An adjacent scrub and grass fire ignited by the shed fire was contained and the shed fire has been controlled. Damage to the shed is estimated to be about $50 000, with two motor vehicles and an aluminum boat destroyed. The fire was caused by the occupant using a grinder within the shed. Fire crews will continue to mop up throughout the afternoon, however smoke can no longer be seen at the incident. Motorists travelling through the area may experience delays and they’re reminded they must slow down to 25km/hour when passing emergency service vehicles with flashing lights.
