Shelby Britt Benton January 01, 2015 Shelby Jean Britt Benton, age 75, of Chadbourn, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, January 1, 2015 at her residence. Final rites will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Chadbourn Pentecostal Holiness Church with Reverend Donald D. Conway officiating. Entombment will follow in Chadbourn Memorial Cemetery. Worthington Funeral Home in Chadbourn is in charge of arrangements. She was the daughter of the late Marvin and Tommie Inez Green Britt. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Richard Earl Benton of the home; three daughters, Kathy B. Carter (L.C.) of Evergreen, Debbie B. Ransom (Lloyd) of Chadbourn and Tammy B. Starr of Orlando, FL; a sister, Martha Britt Hilbourn (Ken) of Chadbourn; three brothers, Earnest Britt of Liberty Commons/Whiteville, Horace Ray Britt (Rita) of Garden City Beach, SC and Randy Britt (Beverly) of Wilmington; five grandchildren, Jonathan Ransom, Beth Clewis, Jeffrilyn Farckle Greene, David William Starr III, Benton Richard Harrison Starr; two great-grandchildren, Joshua Ransom and Kelsie Clewis. Online condolences may be offered at worthingtonfuneralhome. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Chadbourn Pentecostal Holiness Church.
