Sherard Rudolph Shaw Carmel, IN formerly of Clarksdale, MS Sherard Rudolph Shaw, 86, former Coahoma County Superintendent of Education, died January 14, 2015 at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis, IN. Visitation is Saturday January 17, 2015, 1:00 - 2:30 P.M. at Clarksdale Baptist Church in Clarksdale, MS. Funeral services are 2:30 P.M. Saturday at Clarksdale Baptist Church in Clarksdale, MS with burial in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale, MS is handling the arrangements. Mr. Shaw received a BS degree from Southern Mississippi, Masters Degree from University of Mississippi and Education Specialist Degree from Delta State University. He moved to Clarksdale in 1954 as a math teacher and coach at Clarksdale Jr. High. Over the years, he became principal of Clarksdale Jr. High and Coahoma County High School. The last 16 years of his career, he served as Coahoma County Superintendent of Education. Survivors include wife of 65 years Nanette Walker Shaw of Carmel, IN; son Eric Shaw (Vicki) of Carmel, IN; daughter-in-law Tina Shaw of Jackson, MS; brother Kirk Shaw (Linda) of Mobile, AL; brother-in-law James Foreman of Enka, NC; grandchildren Sherard R. (Bubba) Shaw, III (Jennifer) of Birmingham, AL, Blair Shaw and Heather Shaw Young (Rhett) of Jackson, MS, Eric Shaw, Jr. (Lori) of Westfield, IN, Brett Shaw of Carmel, IN; great-grandchildren Walker Shaw, Charlie Grace Shaw, Eric Shaw III (Trey) and Andrew Shaw. He was preceded in death by his parents Sherard C. and Emma Kuyrkendall Shaw; sons Sherard R. Shaw, Jr. and Joseph Lee Shaw; sister Dee Shaw Foreman; grandchild Meredith Shaw.
