Sherwood School Budget Adopted On May 14, the District’s Budget Committee approved the 2013/14 proposed budget. In balancing this budget, the District took great care to make reductions as far away from the classroom as possible in hopes of keeping growing class sizes at bay. In order to reach a reduction target of $1.72M, significantly more reductions would have been necessary if not for substantial concessions on the part of our four employee groups. We would like to thank our employee groups for willingly making concessions that have greatly helped offset the reductions in staff we would have been forced to make without their partnership. We are truly fortunate to work in a district where we enjoy such a positive and collaborative relationship with each of our employee groups. The final stage in the budget approval process occurred at our June 5 Board meeting, where the Board unanimously adopted the same budget, inclusive of three furlough days for all staff that are reflected in the 2013/14 calendar
