Short Rant 3.2.. Had a discussion with friends about the Eric Gardner and Michael Brown cases. A friend who didnt know the situation of black mistrust or caution around police responded if people didnt break the law they wouldnt be stopped and just comply with the cops and nothing will go wrong then he proceeded to boast about his encounters with MPD and CPD and how he got pulled over for making mods to his vehicles like illegal tint or mud flaps and his encounters involved him yelling at the police officer and tell him that theyre wasting their time because hes not going to take anything off and snatching the tickets and driving off. I winced and got a little mad and told him that Ive been pulled over a dozen times and given no tickets. Ive done nothing wrong but been accused of wrong doing [I know the law enough to know my rights and not to escalate an encounter]. Once a PPD pulled me over saying my vehicle match the description of a truck involved in a crime then he proceeded to suggest that he was going to search my vehicle with my permission on not. After he searched it and me he said have a nice day boy and he left. I was heated. Went into to work And some of my bosses at the time saw me looking pissed off and after explaining, they got more upset than me [Amy & Jenny]. Anyway, My point is that I have to be more cautious around police then my current neighbors because regardless if Im in the right or wrong my safety may not be in my hands. I respect the police and have friends on the force. But I will always condemn doing things the wrong way. You dont have to be anti-cop to believe that.
