Short history about Fletcher. Mount Fletcher is a town in the Joe Gqabi District Municipality of the Eastern Cape province, 60 km north-north-east of the town of Maclear. It was established as a mission in 1882 by the British Methodists and named after the Reverend John Fletcher, founder of the mission.
