Haitian people is amnesiac.They loose their ability to memorize history,facts and others .Thats the reason why some of them try to pledge the duvaliers case. When people with amnesia,its hard to find a way to imagine the future,because their constructions of future scenarios are closely linked to their recollections of past experiences. A historic recall Francois Duvalier,kown as papa doc,was elected president with the armys support in 1957 and ruled Haiti until death in 1971. His son,Baby doc then replaced him and ruled until 1986. 30 years of crimes 1963 In port au prince, the« tontons macoutes» carried out a series of assassinations of the families of alleged opponents to the government after failed attempt to kidnap papa docs son Jean claude.Macoutes typically raided a house of alleged men,killed its inhabitants,including elderly people,children and servants 1964 The « Massacre des vêpres jéremiennes».Located in the southwest of haiti so called « Grande Anse» The tonton macoutes and soldiers led by lt. Abel jerome,Sony borge,Col Williams Regala,Sanette balmir and St Ange Bontemps killed 57 individuals non armed.Almost all of them belonged to educated mulatto families July 1964,After a raid on june 24,1964 plotted by an anti duvalierist.Tontons macoutes associated to army forces killed 600 people in the town of mapou,thiotte,grand gosier. June 8,1968. 19 High ranking military officers were killed in fort dimanche by a firing squad led by Francois Duvalier. April15,1969.In the village of cazale located in North in port au prince.Army soldiers and macoutes killed several dozen peasant families.On april 5, five hundred macoutes and soldiers arrived in the area and started the killing.At the end of the day,25 bodies were found but 80 had disappeared.
